Hello and welcome to my practice!
I’m Nneka McKenzie
A specialist mental health pharmacist, a trainee counselling psychologist, and a qualified ADHD coach. I offer holistic support for adults navigating ADHD.
I've worked as a pharmacist for 20 years across both NHS and private settings, with the last 10 years dedicated to mental health, and 5 of those as an ADHD clinician. My interest in developing the therapeutic relationship using research has led me to pursue a second career as a counselling psychologist.
Alongside this clinical experience, I bring a deep interest in how ADHD intersects with many social characteristics to affect identity and self-esteem — and how too often, these layers are misunderstood or overlooked in care. I am also aware of the limitations of a medication-only approach.
My coaching is strengths-based and collaborative, designed to help you build skills, boost self-awareness, and create sustainable change. I believe medication can be a powerful tool, but it's just one part of the journey.
ADHD doesn't show up the same way for everyone — and neither does the care around it.
Many of my clients arrive having spent years feeling misunderstood, dismissed, or quietly told their struggles weren't real. For people from minority ethnic backgrounds, that experience is often layered with cultural expectations about coping, productivity, or what asking for help is supposed to look like. ADHD is also still significantly under-recognised in these communities, which means people often arrive at adulthood without ever having had their experience named properly. I created this practice to change that.
I bring this awareness into every conversation. My aim is to offer support that meets you where you are — recognising the whole person, the context you live in, and the strengths you've built navigating a system that hasn't always been built with you in mind. That looks different for every client, and it should.
