Hello and welcome to my practice!

I’m Nneka McKenzie

A specialist mental health pharmacist, a trainee counselling psychologist, and a qualified ADHD coach. I offer holistic support for adults navigating ADHD.

I've worked as a pharmacist for 20 years across both NHS and private settings, with the last 10 years dedicated to mental health, and 5 of those as an ADHD clinician. My interest in developing the therapeutic relationship using research has led me to pursue a second career as a counselling psychologist.

Alongside this clinical experience, I bring a deep interest in how ADHD intersects with many social characteristics to affect identity and self-esteem — and how too often, these layers are misunderstood or overlooked in care. I am also aware of the limitations of a medication-only approach.

My coaching is strengths-based and collaborative, designed to help you build skills, boost self-awareness, and create sustainable change. I believe medication can be a powerful tool, but it's just one part of the journey.

ADHD doesn't show up the same way for everyone — and neither does the care around it.

Many of my clients arrive having spent years feeling misunderstood, dismissed, or quietly told their struggles weren't real. For people from minority ethnic backgrounds, that experience is often layered with cultural expectations about coping, productivity, or what asking for help is supposed to look like. ADHD is also still significantly under-recognised in these communities, which means people often arrive at adulthood without ever having had their experience named properly. I created this practice to change that.

I bring this awareness into every conversation. My aim is to offer support that meets you where you are — recognising the whole person, the context you live in, and the strengths you've built navigating a system that hasn't always been built with you in mind. That looks different for every client, and it should.

What I can help with

Medication Advice

From a qualified pharmacist

Drawing on over 10 years' experience as an Advanced Specialist Mental Health Pharmacist, I help clients navigate ADHD medication with clarity.

  • Explain how ADHD medications work in a clear, accessible way

  • Help you understand current medication options and treatment pathways

  • Offer personalised, holistic guidance on ADHD medication in the context of other health conditions or preferences

This is non-prescribing, educational guidance — I do not prescribe medication as part of this coaching service.

What Clients Say

  • "Nneka’s sessions have been exceptionally helpful. Her ability to hear and decipher which behaviours and traits are most impactful on my daily life, then to discuss ways of re-thinking them, has provided a strong base for me to work from to manage myself better. She provided useful tools and explained the theory behind them which made incorporating them into my day to day functioning clearer. I would highly recommend Nneka as an ADHD coach”.

    — N.T. (Coaching Client)

  • “We developed a coaching partnership and rapport with great ease. It has been a good coaching journey in which I was able to practice and reinforce tools and outcomes. Nneka shared suggestions which really resonated. An overall positive experience.“

    — J.B. (Coaching Client)

  • “Thank you so much for everything, I’ve never met such a person centred clinician who even with the pressures of an overrun service still takes the time to properly listen and see the person behind the prescription. You are so knowledgeable and responsive to different people’s needs, and it has been the best experience I’ve had of healthcare so far. You have definitely given me the opportunity to change my life for the better, and I really appreciate it. Keep being your brilliant self!”

    Client

  • "You make such a huge difference to people's lives and I'm so grateful. I know how much pressure it can be to get everyone seen back to back, so you are a miracle worker for managing to still give people time and space to be heard and understood. Thank you so much!"
